One: Terrace Martin Song
Beige: A great vibe track from Terrace Martin featuring Elena Pinderhughes and Arin Ray, with the latter singing the line of the song for me. It’s got that bouncy bassline that’s so reminiscent of what Raphael Saadiq used a bass and a tuba to do on Still Ray, that when you get to Arin Ray’s pleading cry, you just can’t help yourself but to dance a little bit. The best part is how starkly that feeling belies the tone of the lyrics, which are so dripping with malaise that it practically oozes out of the video. Despite that, this is modern funkiness to help pop you out of a funk, and I, for one, attest to its efficacy.
